Professor
Analytical chemistry, environment and biogeochemistry
Karine Desboeufs is currently working in the research group "Multiphase Chemistry of Atmospheric Environment" on the chemistry of interactions between the atmosphere and the surface of the ocean. A major part of this involves a study of deposition in aerosols (dust) and rain of nutrients (principally Fe) to the ocean. Along with lab or field aerosol solubility measurements, these works focus on chemical process which affect trace element distributions and behaviour in atmospheric and marine environments.
