Our research projects aim at contributing to the understanding of the mechanism of the catalytic oxidation of water that takes place at the Oxygen Evolving Center (OEC) of the Photosystem II (PSII). Experimental approaches imply the studies of chemical and electrochemical oxidation of Mn complexes, which are relevant model of the OEC and the characterization of intermediates species such as Mn-oxo and Mn-peroxo complexes. We are also involved in the electrocatalysis of the reduction of proton using non-noble metal complexes (Co, Ni).
